Lesson 8 complete

I got this

Lesson 7

I am clueless when it comes to auto repair or even helping someone find info on auto repair. I really hope I can figure this out because we get questions on this often. I hope patrons are better at navigating this thing than I am.
The first exercise tripped me up. I choose the Harley XL-Sportster but after that I did not know what to look for.
I don't even know where to start with Two-Cycle Small Engine Start Up.
I assume snow throwers and snow blowers are the same, so I chose Montgomery Ward's first model listing then chose lubrication and waited for the results. When they finally came up there was nothing on it about changing oil, just about adding oil to lubricate the driving mechanism.
For the last exercise, I chose Generators and other small engines then chose a Craftsman small air-cooled engine listed. It had all kinds of cool diagrams of the carburetor but being auto DIY illiterate, I don't know how to clean it.

Lesson 6

I get Mango questions all the time and love that it was included in the training.
Creating a profile must be done from our library for the program to recognize the IP address as part of the Alaska program, otherwise it does not work. Many patrons also seem to be using the log in rather than the create an account feature when first setting up. Now that I have walked through the process myself, I can instruct others to do it properly.
I like the translate feature!
Buongiorno!

Lesson 5 complete

1. There are 31 dictionaries with entries for the word habeas corpus.
2. The purpose of the links is to allow quick access to sites that have a dictionary function. On the Guide to Writing and Grammar, the song "my favorite things" is used to illustrate nouns.
3. There are 14 examples of boats and ships given on the Visual English Dictionary link.
4. There are 18 titles offered in the English Language Reference category.
5. The options available to process the information on the results screen are to reorder the results alphabetically or to refine by book.
6. The quote from John Locke is: "[That] ill deserves the name of confinement which hedges us in only from bogs and precipices. So that, however it may be mistaken, the end of law is, not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom." Using browse this subject under the Quotations link gives various definitions of the word along with which books have quotations using the specific definition.
7. A search for Syria in Maps & Illustrations results in a list of only three illustrations.
8. According to the introduction for AGuide to Countries of the World, what is the purpose of this source is to provide a brief history and contemporary outline rather than World Encyclopedia's  historical account.
9.

I am so glad the blog saved this draft. I was working on exercise 9 when I lost internet connection, I don't have time to do it again.

Lesson 4b

Using the Teacher Resource Center :
There were 46 articles from the original search, only 8 after limiting to full text after 2008.Using the Cite feature, the APA citation for the article I chose follows:
                            Partnerships & Acquisitions. (2009). Electronic Education Report16(19), 6-7.

Using ERIC:
There were 297 articles from the original search, only 12 after limiting, only 6 did not have either PDF or HTML links.

Using Professional Development:
There were 57 results from the original search, only 10 after limiting, Yes there were overlapping titles.
From the Ebsco interface, using all three, there were 384 results, and 212 after limitations.

It is much more efficient to search all at once.

Lesson 4a complete

I could not pass the the 8th Grade final exam from 1895, but love what it says about it before the questions.

Lesson 3 complete

I use Library Thing most often, but I do like NoveList.
